12/18/2007Japanese Sea Based Test (Aegis) Successful
Riki Ellison, President of the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance (MDAA), reported today that at (12:11 p.m. Hawaii time), the Japanese Aegis Destroyer, the JS KONGO (DDG-173), shot down a scud-like target missile similar in speed and size to those deployed by the North Korean military off the coast of Kauai, Hawaii.
12/04/2007Successful Air Based Interceptor (NCADE) Test
Yesterday in the skies over New Mexico, a U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter launched two air-to-air (AIM-9X) missiles and successfully intercepted a boosting rocket launched from the White Sands Missile Range marking the first time a missile defense intercept was made from an air based platform. The two-stage air-to-air missiles have a new liquid propellant in their second stage rocket motor to provide the velocity necessary to intercept missiles in their initial boosting stage.
09/28/2007Successful Ground Based Interceptor (GBI) Test
The ground based interceptor (GBI) launched at 1:16pm PDT from the Ronald Reagan Missile Defense Site at Vandenberg AFB, California. The interceptor propelled with an explosive glow of deep orange and white clouds of steam from its exhaust, moved slowly against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean and soared into space as the ground trembled with a deep rolling resonance. The sound from the missile was oddly delayed as the interceptor accelerated beyond ear sight past the speed of sound as the visual view of a neat white vapor trail thundering against the blue sky never let the sound catch it.
11/06/2007Two Successful Sea Based Interceptor (Aegis) Tests
On November 6th, at 11.12 p.m. EST, a salvo attack of two target single-stage missiles representing SCUD-like capability were fired within seconds of each other off the coast of Kauai at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) with each missile having a 400 km range. These two missile targets were picked up, tracked and discriminated immediately by the Aegis radar on the USS Lake Erie. Approximately 2 minutes later, the crew on the USS Lake Erie launched two Standard Missile-3 Block 1A (SM-3) from their vertical launch tubes in the back and front of the ship. Both target short-range ballistic missiles were destroyed two minutes later with the kinetic energy of the high velocity SM-3s directly hitting these fast moving target missiles about 100 miles up in space and 250 miles northwest over the Pacific Ocean from the PMRF in Kauai.
10/27/2007Sucessful Ground Based Interceptor (THAAD) Test

Late Friday evening Hawaiian Standard Time, a liquid-fueled single stage Scud missilestreaked across the tropical black sky over the Pacific Ocean near the northern islands of Hawaii after being launched from a sea-based floating barge. Moments later, after being detected and tracked by an X-band radar located on the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) in Kauai, a ground-based mobile defensive missile was launched from a different location on the same range in Barking Sands.

09/10/2007Successful Test for KEI Rocket Motor
This was a successful test of a stage 1 rocket for the continued development of the Kinetic Energy Interceptor (KEI), which is a three-stage interceptor. The test of this high-acceleration rocket motor meet all objectives and the KEI system is scheduled to conduct a boost phase rocket flight test in 2008.
